Functional Capacity Evaluations
Biokinetics provides an objective Functional Capacity Evaluation that can be used to determine the functional abilities of an injured employee and their ability to safely return to their occupational duties. We will perform a comparison of the individual's abilities as demonstrated during testing against the essential demands of their occupation. The report will identify whether the individual meets the essential demands of the position, and if they do not, the report will identify at what level they may safely perform based on their results.
Functional Capacity Evaluations may also be used to determine whether an individual has the requisite strength for potential job re-training through vocational rehabilitation services.

All Biokinetics Functional Capacity Evaluations are performed by a licensed physical therapist per the guidelines of the State of New Jersey as well as guidelines of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Data from each test is collected using our state of the art motion capture systems made by Vicon Peak. This technology is used at leading research hospitals for the evaluation of medical and physical therapy treatments, including providing surgical solutions for children with cerebral palsy. The technology is also used by professional sports teams and the Olympic Training Center for improving sports performance and reducing risk of injury.
Each Functional Capacity Evaluation includes:
- A complete history and physical examination including ROM and MMT
